I generally take a dim view of politicians of all stripes, but I am feeling a healthy amount of Platonic love today for Nikki Haley. (pictured, left)
As expected, the UN General Assembly voted this morning to declare US recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital `null and void.’ Much like the UN itself, the declaration is empty and meaningless. We will still move our embassy to Jerusalem despite the protestations of slimeballs who see the US and Israel as the source of all evil—while simultaneously showing dangerous indifference to those members who are state sponsors of terrorism.
Today’s vote was 128-9. Wow. Well, you can say the UN is incapable of rallying around a cause. It helps when the cause is a metaphorical slap in the face to the nation everyone loves to hate.
Haley, the former South Carolina Governor who now is the US ambassador to the UN let them have it. You can see the video linked below. She said the U.S. “will remember this day in which it was singled out for attack in the General Assembly for the very act of exercising our right as a sovereign nation…We will remember it when so many countries come calling on us, as they so often do, to pay even more.”
I have been a sharp critic of President Trump and I will remain so. But his appointing of Haley is proving to be one of his finest moves. And she is certainly delivering the goods. In fact, I wish the UN was where her boss would aim most of his venom, rather than at B-list celebrities and others of little import. But that’s an issue for another day.
As for the United Nations: I am tired of playing host to a group of duplicitous kleptocrats who despise the United States; while dining in the finest restaurants and using the best facilities the US has to offer. They are a feckless dumpster fire of corruption and contemptuous people.
Bottom line…the UN needs us FAR more than we need them. It is high time they were reminded of that.
By the way. To all the boys at the UN. This look you see from Haley in the picture I linked? I’ve seen it from women before. It’s never a good thing. Be careful.
